Once I attempt to use the "Get it" link ( ) on this page: I am taken to !ut/p/a1/hc67DoJAEAXQb6GgZYc3sVsJQWCVqIWwjQGDgAGWLCv8vkgsLHxMNzdncgdRlCDaZWNdZqJmXdY8d2qdI001wIiA-JqKARNPDY_xTnXBnEE6A_gyGP7dnxBdiOvjjWETAH9vrCGwt3HkHRwdAusFflSEiJYNy5d3U9zlulMiyotrwQuu3PkcV0L0w0oGGaZpUjIhlAtrZfjkKzYIlLwx1LcJ3MxmJFiSHn8toMk!/dl5/d5/L2dBISEvZ0FBIS9nQSEh/ where I am presented with an "English Download" or "Spanish Download" Option. And as I explained earlier, I personally don't feel a third-party AV/security suite is needed anymore. Which is a pain for me, causes it to mess with things it incorrectly thinks is malware on a daily basis (like video game trainers just because of the nature of how they work). Mainly because they STILL haven't added the ability to add folders or directories as exclusions. I actually have about a year of a McAfee Live Safe sub left but I uninstalled it.

I wouldn't install it even if this issue was fixed, but it still annoys me AT&T has done nothing about this being broken for almost a year. Or surprise me, and actually fix the issue and make it actually available again.

Just announce the end of the free McAfee thing, quit giving people (Edited per community guidelines) about this issue. Check AVTESTS, or AV Comparatives.īut like I said AT&T blowing everyone off, and just not saying a word is not acceptable. It has a 100 percent detection rate of both known and zero-day malware and has for a long time. Look up the detection/protection results of "Microsoft Defender" (now called "Windows Security" at least on my Windows 11 install). Way back when McAfee was an advertised feature for AT&T DSL customers, Windows did not come with ANY antivirus/antimalware software.

I run a second opinion scan from time to time using Hitman Pro and it always comes up clean. (did a clean install of the release build of Windows 11, been great) I genuinely can't remember the last time I got a virus.

I've found Microsoft's built in AV/Anti Malware in Windows 10 and now Windows 11 plenty and has kept my computer clean. I get the feeling AT&T doesn't want to bother paying McAfee whatever they do to offer it as a feature for their internet su(Edited per community guidelines). It's only for AT&T Fiber customers though, and not available for any xDSL based service.ĪT&T just needs to announce that the free McAfee thing is ending instead of the radio silence. It's branded as "AT&T Internet Security with ActiveArmor". They do talk about how their fiber service now has some kind of gateway level AV/Malware protection.

I've noticed the free McAfee is not advertised as a feature anywhere on the main AT&T we(Edited per community guidelines)ite when you look at their internet offerings or when going through the order process as a new customer. But I have a feeling the free McAfee "perk" is going to go away.

First I wanna start by saying that AT&T simply blowing people off regarding this, ignoring it, and going radio silent is not acceptable.
